Teaching

After completing my F.Sc I joined a private school as a primary teacher. Before starting this profession I used to be a home tutor at my house where I used to teach bio, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Teaching was not merely my vocation it was also my zest and I was willing to educate matriculation learners which is also called secondary school certificate (SSC) in an academy. Unfortunately, my qualifications didn’t meet the criteria to coach Secondary students, so I initiated with primary school.

Work hard and success

I drudged very hard. My travail and luck boosted so swiftly and after a year promoted to secondary educator but still, my admin didn’t notice high grade tutor merits in me. Nonetheless, I was thrilled with secondary-level pupils as school administrators always supported me. I experienced different subjects to become an all-rounder like English, Mathematics, Science, Computer, and language subjects. I was relished and honored by teaching, making quiz papers, checking answer copies, and making result sheets. So many students also liked me as one day a grammar teacher told me when she asked pupils to write an essay on their favorite educator most of them wrote my name.

Government and private schools

In Pakistan, there are two types of schools one is the government where every learner pays less yearly fees but the master receives monthly salaries in high amount and after retirement pension also whereas in independent academies the administrator acquires all fees from students and the coach only gets their monthly payout not even any bonus and no pension after termination. For that reason, ordinary citizen starts an academy as well. In government schools, masters are so relaxed as they don’t give much time to learners whereas in private academies instructors break down as the full burden of all students is their responsibility. A huge difference between the two schools.

How civilians are looting by private institutions

Academies are a means of building cash in Pakistan for general civilians for this reason there is more than one institute in every area which is a poor institution. Most of the people are taking benefits while making properties from individual schools. Some civilians open academies under the pretext of providing high-level amenities but they are looting parents of kids too. And they collect a great number of wealth. But their education is better than poor schools. However, all the individual institutions pay low wages to tutors.

Dual shift schooling system

I had a lot of load in an individual institute. That is why after three years of endless coaching I mostly got tired as I used to work in dual shifts, yes private schools work on two shifts morning and afternoon. The morning shift starts at 8 am and ends before 1 pm, the afternoon shift begins at 1 pm and ends at 5 pm and teachers should be punctual to reach school 15 minutes before starting so that I went to 7:30 am and back at 5:30 pm, too long timing with low wages.

Why did I leave teaching?

I started with a 1000 rupees salary and every year added by only 100 rupees extra which was very little payout. Continuously five years I worked as a teacher with a lower income. I received two awards of the best teacher and most of the students used to like me. As I was a talented and valued tutor, some of the teachers were envious, and when I felt that, just resigned from this job. I was just tired from the negativity around me that was the reason I left teaching.

Home Tuition

After ending with academic coaching I used to feel powerless as teaching was not only my occupation it was my keenness as well. I started tuition at my own home. It surprised me, why? I noticed with tuition, the same amount of earnings but in less time like only four to five hours work out as compared to ten hours in an academy, and without rivals and burdens. That is why I did not rejoin any school better to have no tension again. I had also enrolled in graduation to get my degree.

That is my experience of 5 years in teaching vocation with tension and passion but I must say that I was happy with my mastering talent as I have learned many things and I was blessed with home tuition as well. Teaching is not useless or low occupation but in Pakistan, some greedy people use it to their advantage to make wealth. while in other countries educators are always admired and esteemed.
